About Me

My photo
Rick Randall
After finishing my career as a geophysicist in the oil industry, I moved with my wife Cindy to Bainbridge Island, Washington. We were looking for cool summers, natural beauty, and the promise of year-round boating. Boating has been a life-long passion. I started sailing small boats when I was a teenager, and went on to race and cruise larger boats as an adult. We owned a 31-ft Tartan sailboat when we moved to Bainbridge in 2005, but soon realized that Northwest waters were better suited to power boating (too little wind; too much rain). We have been stewards of COMPADRE since 2007, and are active in several boating organizations including Bremerton Yacht Club, Eagle Harbor Yacht Club, and the Classic Yacht Association.
